Notre Dame

Shock waves were sent throughout the world when the famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was ravaged by fire on the 15th April 2019. Footage of the destruction was devastating and to see Parisians standing in tears watching the fire was a sad sight. Notre Dame to me is synonymous with Paris like the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe . Even if you haven't been to Paris you know these places from films and books and to see such a symbol of a city destroyed has far reaching emotions - it's not just about the building. But out of the ashes there is hope. The campaign to rebuild is underway, the fundraising and pledges have been pouring in and the controversy of plans and designs is only just beginning. In our own small way we want to be part of the future of Paris. Yes we are based in Yorkshire but so what? French soap has been the inspiration for our business and from small beginning steps into the world of e-commerce we have grown in size and ambitions. So it will be good to go to Paris one day and point to the new Notre Dame and say "we helped to rebuild that piece of history" and to all of our customers who buy this humble pack of 6 French soaps you too can be part of that future.
