 Fragranced Aleppo Soaps 

This collection represents a deliberate collaboration between two of the world's most enduring soap-making traditions. The foundation relies on authentic Aleppo soap, hot-saponified from olive oil and laurel berry oil in Syria, cut into blocks, and matured through traditional air-drying. 

Once fully cured, these base bars are transferred to a specialist savonnerie in Provence. Here, the underlying olive and laurel oil composition remains structurally unchanged, but the soap is finely milled and unified with classic botanical fragrances native to the Mediterranean basin. The result is a fragrant interpretation of Aleppo soap, balancing Levantine raw material integrity with French blending expertise. 

  • The Milled Saponification Process 

    Unlike traditional standalone blocks, these bars undergo a two-stage production lifecycle defined entirely by provenance and process: 

    1. The Syrian Base: Genuine Aleppo soap is produced via hot saponification in traditional Syrian cauldrons using native olive and laurel berry oils. It is poured, hardened, and aged to build a dense, long-lasting soap structure. 

    1. The Provençal Finish: The cured soap is exported to Provence, where it is broken down, refined, and stamped by traditional French machinery. This allows natural botanical extracts to be cleanly integrated through the bar without heat, protecting the delicate aromatic profiles of the oils.

  • Aleppo Soap from Syria

    The base of these soaps is genuine Aleppo soap produced in Syria using olive oil and laurel berry oil. The soap is cooked, cut and matured before being exported as traditional Aleppo bars.This Levantine soap tradition is one of the oldest forms of vegetable oil soap making and remains defined by its use of olive and laurel oils.

  • Finished in Provence

    After curing, the soap is finished in Provence by a specialist savonnerie. At this stage the bars are scented using fragrances typical of Mediterranean perfumery while the underlying olive and laurel oil soap remains unchanged.

    The result is a fragranced interpretation of Aleppo soap produced through collaboration between two long-standing soap traditions.
