Natural Savon de Marseille represents the practical side of the Marseille soap tradition. Made from vegetable oils and transformed into soap through saponification, it produces a firm, durable bar valued for its reliability and versatility. The blend of oils creates a soap that lathers more readily than olive-only Marseille soap while remaining simple in composition and readily biodegradable in use.
For generations this type of Savon de Marseille has been used not only for washing hands and body but throughout the home. The same bar can be used for hand laundry, stain treatment and everyday cleaning — a reflection of how Marseille soap has traditionally functioned in French households: not as a cosmetic product, but as a dependable vegetable soap designed to do many jobs well.
