Pure Aleppo Soap

Aleppo soap is one of the oldest continuously produced soaps in the world. Made in Syria using olive oil and laurel berry oil, it belongs to a long tradition of vegetable oil soaps that predates the Marseille soap tradition and helped influence its development.

The soap is produced through hot saponification, poured into large slabs and then cut into cubes before being air-dried and matured for many months. During this time the outer surface oxidises to the characteristic beige colour while the interior remains green.

Pure Aleppo soap contains no fragrance, colour or cosmetic additives. Its formulation is defined simply by the proportion of olive oil and laurel oil used during production.

Versatility

Aleppo soap is jut as versatile as Traditional Olive Marseille Soap and can be used for face, body, hair, laundry and household cleaning.
It contains no added fragrance. One product that does it all.

It is also renowned amongst people with sensitive, reactive and demanding skin. Those with psoriasis, eczema and conditions frequently turn to this soap, although as with any cleansing product, individual suitability varies.

Olive Oil and Laurel Oil

Aleppo soap is defined by two oils.
Olive oil forms the base of the soap and provides the cleansing structure of the bar.

Laurel berry oil is added during the final stages of production and gives Aleppo soap its distinctive character and aroma.

The proportion of laurel oil varies between soaps and is typically expressed as a percentage of the total oil content and lends itself to suit different uses.

Aleppo soap is a seasonal olive and laurel oil formulation produced in Syria and matured before export.

It belongs to the class of long-aged traditional and versatile oil soaps.
