Marseille Soap Co. by Tadé

Why should everyday soap be complicated?

The Marseille Soap Co. collection was created by Tadé to bring the colours, fragrances and atmosphere of Provence into an affordable everyday soap bar. Made in France and wrapped in FSC-certified paper, these generously scented soaps combine a traditional vegetable soap base with fragrances inspired by lavender fields, flowering mimosa, honeysuckle and citrus groves.

Recently reformulated in response to customer feedback, the collection now offers fuller fragrance, a richer lather and a more accessible price point, while maintaining a high percentage of natural-origin ingredients.

Simple, cheerful and easy to enjoy, these are the soaps many people reach for every day.

  • Why Has The Collection Changed?

Soap makers rarely reformulate a successful product without good reason.

Tadé listened carefully to feedback from customers and retailers who loved the fragrances but wanted them to be more noticeable in everyday use. At the same time, rising ingredient costs had pushed prices higher than many shoppers expected for a daily-use soap.

The result is the current Marseille Soap Co. collection. The fragrances have been strengthened, the soap produces a richer lather, and the retail price has been reduced significantly, making the range more accessible while retaining its French manufacture and natural-origin character.

  • What Makes These Different From Traditional Savon de Marseille?

Despite the name, these are not traditional Savon de Marseille bars.

Authentic Savon de Marseille follows a very specific formulation based primarily on vegetable oils and contains no added fragrance. Its purpose is cleaning rather than perfume.

The Marseille Soap Co. collection takes inspiration from Provence instead. These bars are fragranced toilet soaps designed for everyday bathing and hand washing. Their focus is colour, fragrance and enjoyment, while still retaining the simplicity and practicality associated with traditional French soap making.

Understanding that distinction helps customers choose the right soap for the right purpose.

  • Why Do They Smell Stronger?

Fragrance is one of the most common reasons customers choose a soap.

The updated Marseille Soap Co. bars use a revised formulation that allows the fragrances to be more noticeable both in the wrapper and during use. Whether you prefer the freshness of Verbena Citron, the familiar comfort of Lavender, the powdery softness of Violet, the floral sweetness of Honeysuckle or the bright bloom of Mimosa, each fragrance now has a clearer identity than the previous generation.

A soap that smells wonderful in the box but disappears entirely in use can be disappointing. The aim of the reformulation was to create a fragrance experience that better matches customer expectations.
