Choosing a Cloth, Sponge or Scourer 

A traditional floor or dish cloth is a useful all-rounder for wiping kitchen worktops, cleaning hard floors, washing dishes and dealing with everyday spills.  

Scouring sponges have a softer sponge with a textured cleaning surface and are better suited to washing up and removing food or grease that won’t lift with a single cloth alone. Choose a delicate scourer for surfaces that need gentler cleaning and a tougher option for more stubborn marks. 

Before using any scourer on a delicate, polished or easily marked surface, test it on a small, less visible area first. Rinse cloths and sponges thoroughly after use and allow them to dry between jobs.
