Collines de Provence - Hand & Body

The most effective way to carry fragrance through the home is not through occasional products, but through daily use.

Collines de Provence Marseille liquid soaps are made traditionally with vegetable oils and Grasse fragrances and supported with matching hand and body creams. Formulated with 97% natural origin ingredients they are part of their "one fragrance for the whole home' range.

  • Why fragrance behaves differently on skin

Fragrance does not behave the same on skin as it does in a room.

On skin, it is affected by:

    • water
    • temperature
    • skin contact
    • repeated washing

This means the scent is lighter, closer and shorter-lived, but also more frequently experienced.

Liquid soap and body cream are therefore not about strong fragrance. They provide continuity — a consistent scent that is noticed throughout the day without needing intensity.

  • What “natural origin” means in practice

A formulation described as 97% natural origin refers to the proportion of ingredients derived from plant or mineral sources.

    In these products, that includes:

    • vegetable oils forming the soap base
    • glycerin retained from saponification
    • plant oils such as sunflower, almond and jojoba in creams

The remaining percentage ensures stability, preservation and usability.

This balance allows the product to function properly while maintaining a high proportion of plant-derived ingredients.

  • Liquid soap is not all the same

Liquid soap falls into two types: true soap made from saponified oils, and detergent-based washes.

Marseille liquid soap is made by saponifying vegetable oils such as coconut and olive. This creates a soap that cleans effectively, rinses cleanly and is suited to frequent use.

Many modern “liquid soaps” are not soap at all, but detergent blends designed for texture and foam rather than washing quality.

Understanding the difference matters if you are using a product multiple times a day.
