Mas du Roseau

Every Ingredient Must Have a Purpose

Since 1983, Mas du Roseau has approached product development with a simple question:

What can be removed?

Founded in Provence by Pascale, the company has built its reputation on creating effective soaps and household products using as few ingredients as possible. Rather than adding complexity, Mas du Roseau focuses on function, selecting each ingredient for a clear purpose and eliminating anything considered unnecessary.

This philosophy continues to guide the brand today, shaping a collection that combines Provençal soap-making traditions with a modern commitment to simplicity, transparency and environmental responsibility.

Why Mas du Roseau Matters

Many natural products are defined by what they contain. Mas du Roseau is equally interested in what they leave out.

The creative team work on the principle that effective products do not need long ingredient lists, excessive packaging or unnecessary additives. Instead, the focus is placed on carefully selected raw materials, thoughtful formulation and practical performance.

This approach has allowed the brand to remain true to its founding principles while responding to modern expectations around sustainability and ingredient transparency.

Rooted in Provence

All Mas du Roseau products are developed and produced in Saint-Chamas, a small Provençal town situated between Marseille and the Camargue.

The surrounding region continues to influence the brand's approach to sourcing and production. Around eighty percent of raw materials and packaging are sourced within France, helping to support local suppliers while reducing transport distances.

Fragrances are developed in nearby Grasse, the historic centre of French perfumery, with particular attention paid to minimising potential fragrance allergens wherever possible.

Natural Colour, Purposeful Formulation

The visual identity of Mas du Roseau reflects the same philosophy as its formulations.

Colours are derived from natural mineral and plant-based sources rather than synthetic dyes, while ingredients are selected according to their function within the finished product.

The result is a range that feels distinctly Provençal: practical, understated and focused on quality rather than excess.

A Modern Provençal Maker

Mas du Roseau represents a different side of French soap-making.

Rather than looking solely to history, the company demonstrates how traditional values can inform modern product design. Provenance, simplicity and functionality remain at the centre of every formulation.

For Mas du Roseau, sustainability is not a separate initiative. It begins with asking whether each ingredient, material and process genuinely serves a purpose.
