Founded in Provence in 1983, Mas du Roseau creates soaps and body care products with a simple philosophy: every ingredient should have a purpose. Rather than chasing trends, the family-run company focuses on traditional soapmaking, carefully selected plant ingredients and fragrances inspired by the landscapes of southern France.
What first attracted us to the range was its thoughtful approach to formulation. Many of the soaps are coloured using natural mineral pigments, plant extracts and clays rather than relying solely on synthetic colourants. Ingredients such as charcoal, chlorophyll, rocou, indigo and clay are used not simply for appearance, but because they contribute to the character and identity of each soap.
The fragrances are equally considered, created in partnership with perfumers in Grasse, the historic heart of French fragrance. The result is a collection that feels distinctly Provençal: honest, colourful, practical and rooted in craftsmanship.
As with all the brands we choose to stock, we spent considerable time researching the company, its manufacturing methods and its values before deciding to add the collection to our shelves.
