Savon de Marseille Fragrance Free Soap Flakes for Clothes, Bedding and Household Laundry 

Once dissolved, Marseille Soap Flakes can be used across everyday household laundry, including clothes, bedding and towels, subject to the care requirements of the textile. 

The same soap can also be used for hand washing, making the flakes a practical format where different types of washing are done with one underlying soap formulation.

  • Marseille or Aleppo?

    Both are traditional soaps and both can be used for laundry, but they're made differently. Marseille Soap is traditionally based on vegetable oils, while Aleppo Soap combines olive oil with laurel berry oil.

    For everyday machine washing I'd generally start with Marseille Soap Flakes. Aleppo Flakes are another traditional option and particularly useful if you already use and prefer Aleppo Soap.

  • Olive or Natural, Green or White?

    You'll see Traditional Savon de Marseille Soap Flakes described as Olive, Natural, Green or White, depending on the savonnerie. The difference is primarily the vegetable oils used to make the soap, which also gives the flakes their different colours.

    Traditionally, white soap has tended to be used for delicates, while green or olive soap has been the everyday laundry soap. But across France, households have always had their own preferences and that's what we encourage you to do too.
