VERBENA

One of the questions we're often asked is why we stock so many Verbena soaps.

The answer is that there isn't a single French interpretation of Verbena. Every savonnerie commissions its own fragrance, choosing notes that reflect its own identity and its own customers. Some lean towards bright citrus. Others towards green leaves, herbs or soft florals. Some use pure essential oil, while others work with beautifully balanced fragrance compositions.

That's why our Verbena collection has grown over the years. Rather than offering one soap in different sizes, we've chosen to stock the individual interpretations from the makers we know and trust. Today that includes bars, liquid soaps, rotating soaps and even traditional Marseille soap flakes.

  • Why Are There So Many Different Verbenas?

One of the joys of specialising in French soap is discovering just how differently each savonnerie interprets the same fragrance.

Rather than buying an off-the-shelf "Verbena" fragrance, many French makers work with their own perfumer to create something unique to their brand. The result is that no two Verbena soaps smell exactly alike.

Fer à Cheval's interpretation is refined and understated. Bleu Jaune's is elegant and contemporary. Mas du Roseau leans towards a botanical freshness, while Maison Berthe Guilhem uses pure verbena essential oil for perhaps the closest expression of the plant itself.

That's why our collection includes so many different Verbenas. They're not duplicates; they're individual interpretations from some of France's best-known soap makers.

  • Which Verbena Is Right for You?

If you enjoy bright citrus notes, La Maison du Savon de Marseille offers one of the freshest interpretations, alongside variations including Crushed Verbena and Verbena & Mandarin.

Looking for something elegant and balanced? Bleu Jaune's classic Verbena is beautifully understated, while Oriental Verbena introduces warmer, richer notes and Verbena Leaf offers a greener interpretation.

Prefer botanical fragrances? Maison Berthe Guilhem's essential oil soap and Mas du Roseau's plant-led collection both celebrate the natural character of verbena in different ways.

And if you're already a fan, why stop at soap? Many of these fragrances are also available as liquid soaps, rotating soaps and home fragrance.

  • Beyond the Bathroom

Verbena has become one of the broadest fragrance collections at French Soaps.

Alongside traditional soap bars you'll find liquid Marseille soaps, rotating soaps for wall-mounted dispensers, traditional soap flakes for laundry, scented candles, reed diffusers and home fragrance oils.

Whether you're introducing Verbena to your kitchen, bathroom, utility room or living room, you can enjoy the same fresh Provençal fragrance throughout the home.
