Plants, Flowers and Honey

We have met a wonderful company from Provence called Plantes & Parfumes. Nestled at the foot of Mont Ventoux in the Luberon, this company has been making beautiful perfumes from flowers and plants for over 30 years. All their products are handmade using local natural ingredients and traditional practices and we were definitely impressed with the delightful fragrances, pretty bottles and beautiful packaging.  Some beautiful fragrances for you to try; Rose Petal is amazing, Garrigue is a classic and Pink Grapefruit (I think is my favourite) to name just a few. The other thing that we love from Plantes & Parfumes are the amazing Honey soaps in three different varieties.

Honey soaps bring back sweet memories for me; these were the French soaps that I fell in love with on my early holidays as a teenager to France. I just love the smell of them and the soft lather that didn't dry my skin. And could I find these soaps back in the North East of England? Could I heckers like!

I now know why Honey soaps are so good to use and gentle on sensitive skin; they are made with Shea Butter and Almond Oil both wonderfully moisturising and fragrant and the added honey is a great anti-aging agent and moisturiser, it is also rich in antioxidants AND anti-bacterial. Since ancient times honey has been well known for it's skin rejuvenating properties, take notes from Cleopatra and her Asses Milk baths with honey and rose petals and a glass of Champagne (er I'm sure I read that somewhere....)
