Before specialised household cleaners became common, many homes relied on simple soap solutions prepared from traditional vegetable-oil soap. Black liquid soap — known as Savon Noir — is one of the most widely used examples of this approach.
Savon Noir is produced by slowly cooking vegetable oils in large cauldrons using the traditional Marseille soapmaking method. Unlike solid Savon de Marseille, potassium salts are used during the process, allowing the soap to remain in liquid form.
This version combines almond and linseed oils with lavender essential oil, creating a mild household cleaning soap with a light natural fragrance.
Diluted in warm water it forms a gentle but effective cleaning solution suitable for floors, household surfaces and everyday cleaning tasks.
Suitable for most household cleaning tasks including:
• washing floors and tiled surfaces
• cleaning kitchen and bathroom surfaces
• maintaining furniture and painted wood
• everyday household washing
As with all cleaning products, test on delicate or untreated surfaces before use.
