Hand made in the Pyrenees this organic goat’s milk soap is enriched with precious borage seed oil and naturally fragranced with bergamot and sweet orange essential oils for gentle, uplifting cleansing.

The scent is rounded and refined — sparkling citrus softened by a subtle warmth — creating a fresh, elegant fragrance that feels clean rather than sharp. Cold-processed in small batches using fresh organic Alpine goat’s milk, the soap produces a creamy lather and leaves skin feeling comfortable, refreshed, and well balanced.

It’s one of the top selling bars in this range and is ideal for those who enjoy light, citrus-led fragrance with a nourishing, skin-friendly feel.

Why this formula works

Organic olive oil and coconut oil form a mild, reliable soap base, while fresh organic goat’s milk brings natural softness and skin comfort. Borage seed oil adds an extra layer of care, helping the skin feel supple and supported after washing.

Bergamot and sweet orange essential oils bring freshness and clarity, while the cold-process method preserves naturally occurring glycerin, supporting moisture retention and everyday comfort.

A note on the Oils

Borage Oil

This is a plant oil that is a bit under the radar, maybe because its name isn't as cool as some others, it's hard to compete with kukui or baobab!  But let us tell you when it comes to skin care, borage seed oil is one of the best oils that can happen to your skin. Especially, if it's dry, sensitive, easily irritated, often itchy or eczema prone. 

So what is so special about it? It is the richest known plant source of the super important essential fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is soothing and nourishing, and can repair even severely dry and irritated skin, but it's pretty rare and borage contains by far the most of it (17-28%). Next to GLA, it also contains more common fatty acids, like linoleic (36%), oleic (18%) or palmitic acid (10%). 

Bergamot Oil

An ugly citrus fruit to say the least, the Bergamot has a very short growing period and a very recognisable scent: if you don' think you know it, think Earl Grey Tea. In skincare it is great for wound healing, and is also used as an anti-inflammatory ingredient. In this soap it's principle purpose is fragrance.

Maison Berthe Guilhem are experts in Organic Alpine Goat’s Milk soap. A family business with Swiss accredited naturopathy training and a desire to source the very best for purpose organic ingredients that are turned into wonderful soap bars on their farm in the Pyrenees.

All their soap bars are made 'cold' and contain minimal ingredients. The core of all the soaps are Organic Olive Oil, Organic Coconut Oil and Organic Alpine Goats Milk. These and any other ingredients are treated minimally to maintain their properties which in turn ensures that each bar of soap is as beneficial as possible to the user.

With 99% Natural Ingredients and a minimum of 70% from Organic farming these are really high quality soaps.

Organic Alpine Goat’s Milk
Sourced from the family’s own free-range Alpine goats, goat’s milk sits at the heart of this soap. Naturally rich in vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids, it is traditionally valued for its gentleness and suitability for everyday cleansing.

Organic Borage Seed Oil
Pressed from the seeds of the borage plant, this precious oil is known for its skin-conditioning properties. Naturally rich in essential fatty acids, it helps support skin comfort and softness.

Organic Bergamot Peel Oil (Expressed)
Extracted from the peel of bergamot citrus fruit, bergamot oil brings a fresh, sparkling aroma that feels clean and uplifting, while remaining well balanced in gentle formulations.

Organic Sweet Orange Peel Oil (Expressed)
Sweet orange oil adds warmth and softness to the fragrance, rounding out the citrus notes and giving the soap its easy, everyday appeal.

Organic Olive Oil
A cornerstone of traditional soapmaking, olive oil cleanses gently while helping to maintain skin comfort and balance.

Organic Coconut Oil
Provides natural lather and effective cleansing, carefully balanced to remain mild and suitable for daily use.

In accordance with cosmetic labelling requirements, this formulation contains the following potential fragrance allergens, which occur naturally within the components of the oils:

Limonene, Linalool – Naturally occurring aromatic components found in citrus peel oils.

These ingredients are present at levels permitted for cosmetic use. This soap also contains borage seed oil (seed-derived). Individuals with known sensitivities to fragrance allergens should review the full ingredient list before use. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

The goat’s milk used in these soaps comes from the family’s own free-range Alpine goats, raised with care in a clean mountain environment. Small herds, attentive husbandry, and organic farming practices ensure the milk is fresh, traceable, and handled with the respect it deserves.

Soapmaking is done slowly, by hand, using a traditional cold-process method. This gentle approach not only preserves the natural qualities of the ingredients, but also avoids unnecessary energy use and waste. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is added without reason.

Ingredients are chosen for their quality, origin, and purpose — always organic where possible, always biodegradable, and never superfluous. The formulas are deliberately short, the packaging minimal, and the final bars designed to last.
