This Verbena Soap Bar captures the crisp, green vibrancy of freshly picked verbena and enriched with chlorophyl for colour and its natural refreshing and deodorising properties. Handcrafted using traditional French soap making, it’s a daily wash that feels clean, light, and utterly natural.

What Does Verbena Fragrance Smell Like?

Verbena is known for its fresh, citrus-herb aroma — bright, uplifting, and reminiscent of sun-warmed lemon zest with subtle green leafy undertones. Unlike overly sweet or heavy fragrances, verbena feels energising and unpretentious, perfect for early mornings, post-work showers, or anytime you want a refreshingly clean scent that lingers lightly without overwhelming the senses.

Chlorophyll is the natural green pigment found in plants and is responsible for capturing light during photosynthesis. In soapmaking, chlorophyllin-copper complex is used as a stable, plant-derived colourant that delivers a fresh green tone while maintaining formulation stability. Cotton gauze is a natural, breathable fabric made from fibres sourced from the cotton plant. Woven using a loose, open structure, it allows soap to air-dry naturally while protecting it from damage during storage and transport. Unlike paper or cardboard, gauze remains strong when wet, is reusable and washable, and can be repurposed after use. Made from responsibly sourced cotton, gauze is biodegradable, plastic-free, and long-lasting, offering a low-waste, sustainable packaging alternative that protects the soap while reducing single-use materials.

RSPO-Certified Palm & Palm Kernel Oils (Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate) – Create a firm, long-lasting soap with a rich, stable lather

Vegetable Glycerin – Helps attract and retain moisture, supporting skin comfort

Activated Charcoal (Charcoal Powder) – Traditionally used in cleansing products for its impurity-absorbing properties

Glyceryl Laurate – A plant-derived ingredient used to support skin feel and formula balance

Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga Odorata Flower Oil) – A traditional floral oil valued for its rich, exotic aromatic character

Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Aqua, Parfum, Sodium Chloride, Citral, Glycerin, Limonene, Sodium Gluconate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Amyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex, Sodium Sulfate

The fragrance is created in Grasse using a blend of natural and nature-identical aromatic components including essential oils and in line with UK and EU cosmetic regulations.

In accordance with cosmetic labelling requirements, this formulation contains the following potential fragrance allergens, which occur naturally within fragrance compositions:

Citral – a citrus-scented component commonly found in verbena, lemon, and lemongrass oils

Limonene – a fresh citrus aroma compound naturally present in citrus peel oils

Amyl Cinnamal – a floral fragrance component often associated with soft, sweet notes

Linalool – a floral, slightly herbal aroma found naturally in many flowers and herbs

These ingredients are widely used in perfumery and are safe for use within regulated limits. However, if you have very sensitive or fragrance-reactive skin, we recommend carrying out a patch test before first use.

This soap is made with a plant oil formulation, including RSPO-certified palm oil, which supports responsible land use and reduces overall environmental impact compared to non-certified palm derivatives.
